Description

The star in the system known as Salara is a pulsar with only 2 planetary bodies and a single asteroid belt. The single habitable planet, Proximia, orbits close to the star, within its "goldilocks" zone that allows enough radiation to warm the planet for liquid water to exist, and far enough out that tidal forces from the star have not torn it apart. The other planet is a gas giant 20 AU away from the star. The asteroid belt is in an orbit halfway between the two planets.

Proximia has no sapient species, but the native life evolved to have unique integuments that appear white to human eyes. It appears to reflect most of the radiation coming from the star. The dominant form of life on the planet appear similar to Earth insects, and have evolved to cover most of the ecologic niches that are taken up by Earth based mammals.

The colonists from Gaia have domesticated a native animal they call "isodogs", which appear and behave loosely like isopods.
