Description
Clump’s star is a typical yellow star (G2V) and has a single planet habitable by humans, known as Kierana (orbital distance 0.8 AU.) There are two other planets that have gravity in a range comfortable for humans, Faloaran (2.5 AU) and Sanlal (3.8 AU.) There are two gas giants in the system, and a large asteroid belt (1.5 AU) between Kierana and Faloaran. There are two other iceball planets in the outer part of the system, both further than 15 AU from Clump’s star.
Kierana
Kierana has a single small colony founded by Torrin over one hundred years ago, that has not grown much in the past forty years. They consider themselves Kieranans, and they call their single city Landing.
Landing
Only city on Kierana, it is the site of the original colony, and its infrastructure still uses much of the original equipment used from the colony ship that brought them here. It has a population of about 120,000, which makes up 80% of the planetary population. Most of the rest of the population lives within two hundred miles of Landing.
Faloaran
Falaoran is an airless, lifeless dark blue world made up of windswept cold desert, mostly rock. There is a scientific base there with five scientists from Torrin, who study the strange geology of the planet. The gravity is 82% of Torrin.
Sanlal
Sanlal has an atmosphere is toxic to humans made up of mostly carbon dioxide and sulfuric acid at high pressures. The gravity of the planet at the surface is .9g.
