Session 0 Summary

We got a start on setting up the specifics of the tone and PC activities during session 0 with a mix of new and old players. We included an overview of the cluster in which the players will be acting, how it is connected to the rest of known space, (not yet), what the PCs will be doing that has drawn them together, and what types of problems they will run into.

They will be the crew of a tugboat working for the Port Authority of the New Earth Directorate (NED), based at the space station Port Rail orbiting the planet Gaia above the capitol city of the New Earth Directorate.

The NED recently won a war of secession, and the soldiers have been coming home and changing the tenor of society.

Cluster astrography

We determined that the cluster was made up of 4 star systems. The invention of the strait drive by scientists on the planet Gaia in system Torrin. They quickly
colonized the uninhabited systems Saladar and Clump.

They eventually discovered the system Cyron which was surprisingly inhabited by humans. The people of Cyron had an active space-based economy already, although they had not reached the point of developing the strait drive.

They allowed the people of *Cyron to join the growing interstellar government, but eventually tensions grew between the two very different societies to the point where Cyron petitioned for more control of their system. They were turned down, several years in a row, until they declared their independence, and the ensuing war lasted for a dozen years.

Issues

The Soldiers Have Come Home to Roost

The war between the New Earth Directorate and the secessionist system *Cyron has ended with the Treaty of Coelare A. The soldiers have returned to their home planets, many with their equipment, either as part of their discharge or taken in battle. Society is changing from operating under wartime rationing of supplies to dealing with the massive influx of soldiers.
